Jan 08	Has been a while since I gave you any news. We haven't croaked yet. It was a very busy summer as I am involved in a training program that is going to continue until at least late spring. The Terriers have been doing well in every avenue most importantly their intended purpose. A couple shows where attended and they did well. Results that come to mind are Trillium Reserve Working Champion in Chicago and Old "Q" 2nd studdog and get at the JRTCA Nationals. The 7X Sassy1 litter is now 8 months old, two females are her Douzie and Midge. They are getting started in the field. We also have Tussell from friends Cole and Courtney Martineau, "Q" is her only Granddaddy and we are very happy with her. As you can see from the picture she loves being in the earth. TR Accent is now the resident terrier at the Hamilton Hunt Club. Both local Hunt Clubs now have our terriers.
May 07	We have still been active and decided to diversify our directions. I have always appreciated the Border Terrier and for years looked in North America for some working Borders. Unable to find them there I made a contact with a worker in Northern Ireland that breeds workers. Went, looked, liked what I saw and brought back an in whelp Bitch. The offspring have been phenomenal. Went again and brought back a couple males out of the same Grandfather mine are linebred. They are still young but showing good promise. Our Border Line will Carry the Bredtohunt Kennel name. Our Natural Instinct JRTs are still the same, maybe getting better as we concentrate on bring forward the working genes in our Sassy1 tree. We have a current litter with 7 occurances of the gone but not lost old girl. Late this month we traveled to Lancaster Ohio for our one planned show of the year. We where accompanied by Cole and Courtney that are working our terriers. Both Natural Instinct and Bred to Hunt had a great showing. Some of the weekends results Saturday results Natural Instinct "Q" : 1st Bronze Medalion Dog, Best Working Dog, 1st Studdog and get, Best Family Natural Instinct "R" 1st R/B under Working Dog Timber Ridge Accent 1st over Smooth Working Dog Double D Darla: 1st Under R/B working Bitch, Reserve Best Working Bitch and Reserve Working Champion. Bred to Hunt Kelly won the Colored Bitch Class and was Best Colored terrier. Sundays Results Bandito 1st 6-9 RB pup and Reserve dog Pup Natural Instinct "Q": 1st Bronze Medallion Dog, Best Working Terrier Dog, Working Terrier Champion, 1st Studdog and get, Best Family Natural Instinct "R", 1st R/B under Working Dog, Reserve Working Dog Timber Ridge Accent: 2nd smooth Over Working Dog Natural Instinct Dottie; 1st Under R/B Working Bitch, Best Working Bitch, Reserve Working Champion. Dottie and "R" are both "Q" kids and joined him in family class both days. Corkie (Flanblack Crazy Horse) was 1st colored pup and Reserve best Colored Terrier Grady (Flanblack Friendly Giant) a litter mate to Corkie was 2nd colored pup Bred to Hunt Kelly (in my arms in the picture) was 1st Colored Bitch and Best Colored Terrier. Courtney and Coles Linebreed NI "Q" bitch Tussell was groomed on Saturday and shown for the first time on Sunday. She took 3rd in the largest class at the trail. We co own Tussell and are looking forward to a pup out of her and possibly Bandito. Monday saw us in the field with multipile ground hogs and an opposum accounted for with Bred to Hunt Queenie.
March 07	Well it has been a very long time since we updated the news page and a lot has happened that will have to be left behind for now. This afternoon we found Micro Dead in his crate.. The little Dude was healthy as a horse, ate his breakfast went out for his exercise, played in the yard and bounced in through the door when it began raining. He happily went to his crate, fell asleep and never woke up. Micro was my all time favorite and I will miss him greatly. As much as I have shed a few tears Micro was not a terrier to cry over but one to be celebrated. A true once in a lifetimer. Natural Instinct Micro June 98 - March 2007
April 2005	Natural Instinct's Foundation Sassy1 passed away in our favorite chair with her head on my chest. Oh how I Love this Terrier. The Foundation she laid is a solid one and will benefit working terriers for a long time to come. Click for a tribute to Sassy1 Spangle / "Q" litter have arrived We are kind of Rushing April a bit here but this seems like the right place for this news. Over the winter Natural Instinct "Q" offspring have had first birthdays and been lucky enough to be owned by people that take them Hunting. "Q" pups not owned by us that have accounted for Quarry this Winter are Skyline Orchard Nettle owned by Charles and Kathy Potter, Natural Instinct Yogi and Natural Instinct Emma owned by Cole and Courtney Martineau (They also have a 7 month old "Q" daughter Natural Instinct OB that has been in earth) also Timber Ridge Rave and Hanah owned by Jan Bell. A Big THANK YOU to Charles, Kathy, Cole, Courtney and Jan for doing their part in keeping these little white dogs "True to Earth"
Feb/March 05	We are very excited about an upcoming litter Due in April. I have always dreamed of Linebreeding Sassy1's best male to her best female. Well that litter is in the making Natural Instinct Spangle was bred to Natural Instinct "Q" and is very obviously pregnant with 4 weeks still to go. Our Excellent little Groundhog Dog Natural Instinct Petula Passed away. She was a awesome little terrier.
Jan 05	It turns snowy in the south and we go Hunting. What a trip 3 days, 3 foxes and 1 raccoon. Both TNT and Jewel earn their NHCs to Red Fox and their Bronze Medallions "A good sign"
Oct 04	The JRTCA nationals was a great trial. "Q" was 2nd Bronze Medallion. TNT was 3rd in his Working Class. Natural Instinct Dixie owned by Kathy Potter was 2nd in her Working Class. Jewel was 3rd in her Working Class. Kathy Potter's Skyline Orchard Bizcuit a "Q" son was 2nd in his class. We drive to the Delmarva Peninsula and have a great time at Sally's Trial. The Crab Fest and Party Saturday is just not to be missed. A "Q" Son Skyline Orchard Bizcuit is Reserve 4 to 6 month Pup both days. Another "Q" son Saltwater Quip wins Groundhog Class. "Q" wins Bronze Medalion Class. TNT wins his class is Best Working Dog and Reserve Working Terrier Champion.
Aug 04	This month finds us in Ohio attending the OHPA trail. ON Saturday TNT is Reserve Best Working Dog Sunday our Sassy1 wins Brood Bitch and Produce and is Reserve Family. Natural Instinct "Q" wins Bronze Medalion and is the Last OHPA Working Terrier Champion
July 04	Well the first weekend in July found us in WV. We stopped for a little terrier fun on the way there and got a raccoon and Groundhog. The Old van was not about to have us outdo it and got itself a Deer later on that evening. We got a Radiator installed, that got us home where we can now replace all the pretty plastic parts facing forward. The WV Working Terrier Trials where well done and we had a great time as usual. Skyline Orchard Nettle a Natural Instinct "Q" daughter was Puppy Champion on Saturday, Congratulations to the Potters. "Q" won Studdog and Get and was Reserve Best Family. Sunday came and Natural Instinct Rango won his Class and was Reserve Best Working Dog, His Dam Natural Instinct Spangle was Best Working Bitch and Reserve Champion Working Terrier.
June 04	The JRTCA has a Rescue Benefit Trial in RI at Little Rhody Beagle Club where we attend. Jen Carr and her wonderful Team do an outstanding Job of Organization and this is one smoothly executed Trial. Our Gang had a great trial. Our Natural Instint "Q" kids have all passed the 6 month anniversary. Harbourview Smudge by just a few days. This does not stop Little Smudge and she wins her Class and is Reserve Best Bitch Pup. Saltwater Quip is Best Male Pup and Reserve Puppy Champion. On Fathers Day their Sire Natural Instinct "Q" is Best Bronze Dog, Best Working Dog and Reserve Champ Working Terrier. His Offspring do an excellent job and earn him Best Family as well. On Day 1 he is Best Bronze dog and Reserve Best Family. Natural Instinct TNT on Day one is Best Working Dog and Working Terrier Champion. Humor can be the best medicine and is welcome at most all times. There was a little Tan and White JRT statue on the Raffle Trial and Kate rescued him. Well this little guy was eager to start a show career and snuck into "Q"'s family class where the Judge got nipped by him and he became known as "Nipper". By Golly if Nipper did not find his way into the suitability to Groundhog Class where the other competitors promptly called for a measurement. The Judge brought over the Wicket and Little Nipper got her again. Well this judge was very persistent and waited Nipper out, when he settled she was able to wicket him and the poor little guy came up about 4 inches short!!! and Nipper left but with his tail still Stiff straight up. The end of the Day brought the "TRICK CLASS" and Nipper talked Natural Instinct Dakota into being his ride. Nipper Stood tall and Happy as Dakota carried him into the class on his back. Seems Nipper is a real favorite with the spectators, Who knows what he might scheme up for the next time out.
May 04	It is Memorial Day Weekend and off to the Midwest and the Buckeye Trials. Dawn just keeps on organizing a great time for everyone. Natural Instinct "Q"'s Offspring did very well with Harbourview Smudge winning her class and moving up to Reserve Best 4-6 month Bitch pup, Natural Instinct Accent won his class moved up to best 4-6 dog pup then Best 4-6 month Puppy. Natural Instinct Misty won her Class and was Best 4-6 month Bitch Pup. Natural Instinct "Q" earned Reserve Best Family. Natural Instinct Rango won his working class and was Reserve Best Working Dog, Natural Instinct Spangle won her Working class, was Best Working Bitch and Reserve Working Terrier Champ. Natural Instinct TNT won his Working class. Mid May finds us at the Yankee Trials, Great Trials in New England, We had a Great time. A wonderful Job was done by Nancy Breakstone and Rob McCaslin and all their Fantastic Helpers. Our Major Surprise was Harborview Smudge, A tiny "Q" Kid, She placed first in a quite large class of 4 to 6 months r/b bitches both days and helped her Sire Natural Instinct "Q" to Reserve Best Family. Saltwater Quip another "Q" offspring won his large Male r/b puppy Class as well. Natural Instinct Spangle Did very well and was awarded Best Working Bitch. Natural Instinct Rango also won his working Class.
APR O4	Well it is the start of our trial Season and we make the trek Down to Mason Dixon Ice Breaker at an all new location. The choice of Trial Site is wonderful, the quaint natural setting is outstanding. In out excitement of Meeting with our Friends after the long Canadian Winter we had a great trial. Our terriers Held their own and placed well. Natural Instinct Accent won his Puppy Class and Natural Instinct TNT won his Working Class at IB1 Natural Instinct "Q" has a new family of all puppies and was Reserve Best Family at IB1 & 2
Mar 04	This is a landmark day for Natural Instinct. Folks that own a Terrier and live 11 hours from here arranged to breed to our "Q". This morning they loaded Her in the car, went to their reproduction specialist and where back home 1 hour latter with her bred to "Q" who all this time was lounging in the sun in our backyard. They where amazed at how easy it was and got an early look at "Q'"s half of the litter through a microscope before insemination. (they said they where playing Frisbee and gtg, I was disappointed they where not tunnelling for fox ;^) . There will be one more one hour trip on Tuesday and that will complete her breeding. This is an unbelievable savings of time, stress and resources for all of us. The female was with her people all the time, no stress of traveling, flying, strange houses and strange people, different feeding routines, staying with strange dogs, etc. I can hardly wait for the next 9 weeks to see our first pupsicles:^)

October 2003	On the way to the Nationals we stopped at our ophthalmologists, Sassy1 is Normal in her 10th year, White Phantom Ba-ku is normal at 5, NI "Q" (Sassy1 X White Phantom Ba-ku) is normal and NI Rango is Normal We had a Wonderful time at the JRTCA Nationals. It is always great to see so many old friends and meet some new ones as well. The Natural Instinct Gang did a great job, NI "Q" placed well in both his classes and Picked up his Bronze Medallion. Sassy1 of NI was the highlight of our Trial, She entered Brood Bitch and Produce with NI "Q" and NI Spangle at her sides and earned 4th placing. The judge gave her an awesome comment " Her offspring are a VAST improvement, I see she is a good hunter and a great brood Bitch." Add to that the fact that this NI Matriarch just Cerfed Normal in her tenth year. She has been a great Foundation for Natural Instinct. Sassy1's Daughter NI Twiggy entered generation class with her daughter NI Fantastik and her Granddaughter NI Quiz, She Placed 3rd. NI Shayla, NI Rango, Double D Darling Darla all placed with Darla Placing twice. A special thank you to our friend Diane Prior for helping us over the weekend. Natural Instinct "Q" is mated with Natural Instinct Jewel Litter is Due Mid November NEWS FLASH Natural Instinct Zena from the last "Q" X Jewel Litter was Puppy Champion at the BWTA North American Working Terrier Classic, Zena is owned by Dina Aldredge Congratulations FREE STATE 2003 Sunday Natural Instinct Rango won his puppy class, was Best Dog Pup and Free State 2003 II Puppy Champion. Rango has been JRTCA Puppy Champion 4 times this year. Never a Reserve. He is a very interesting terrier if you appreciate structure, movement and a Harsh coat you will love him. If you look for flash or flare then he is always middle of the pack. This completes his Puppy year. On the 28th Rango will be in the Under Rough Broken Working Terrier Dog classes at Delmarva. 	Mason Dixon Ice Breaker 2003 We had a great time at the Ice Breaker. This season opening trial gives us the opportunity to meet with other folks concerned about the future of the Working Jack Russell Terrier in North America. Natural Instincts Saturday Results Natural Instinct TNT ((Nitro) owned by Jan Bell) won the 6-9 RB Dog Pup and was Reserve Best Dog Puppy. White Phantom Baku Was Reserve Best Family Natural Instinct Dakota was 2nd RB over Working Dog Natural Instinct 'Q' won Bronze Dog went on to be Reserve Best Working Dog and Continued to be 2003 Ice Breaker Reserve Champion. Natural Instinct Fantastik was 2nd under RB working Bitch. Natural Instinct Shayla won her working class. Sunday Results for Natural Instinct White Phantom Ba-ku was Reserve Best Family Natural Instinct Dakota won his Working Class and was Reserve Best Working Dog. Natural Instinct 'Q' won his Bronze Medallion Class, was Best Working Dog and was 2003 Ice Breaker II Champion. Natural Instinct Spangle won her working class was Best Working Bitch and 2003 Ice Breaker II Reserve Champion. Natural Instinct Fantastik was 2nd to Spange in her Class. Feb 2003	Litter due Mid February Natural Instinct Dollie and White Phantom Ba-Ku - This litter was one of the Heartbreaks that comes with Breeding. Dollie had one Stillborn puppy.
Jan 2003	Natural Instinct "Q" Bolted a Red Fox to Earn his JRTCA BRONZE MEDALLION Natural Instinct "Q"X Timber Ridge Random Litter due in NC UPDATE Litter of 6 has arrived Bred to Hunt Badger has earned NHCs to Red Fox and Opossum. Way to go Scott and Dana. Badger was also Reserve Champion Puppy at Fox Cry Natural Instinct Kody was awarded his NHC to Opossum. Thank you Chris for working your Natural Instinct Terrier.

Sept 2002	At the Canadian Nationals Natural Instinct "Q" was Best Canadian Bred Male Pup N.I.Dakota was 2nd Bronze dog N.I. Spangle had a litter of 3 Males out of Merry Chase Rouge N.I. Lady Diana had a litter out of White Phantom Ba-Ku We attended Free State Terrier Trial at Taneytown MD. It was a great trial. Well done Diana and crew. Bred to Hunt Badger was Reserve Best 4 to 6 month pup. Natural Instinct "Q" won his class and was Best Dog Pup White Phantom Ba-ku was Best Family with Badger and "Q" Natural Instinct Fantastik won her Class, Was Best Open Bitch and Open Champion. Dakota won his Class Shayla won her Class and was Reserve Best Working Bitch
Aug 2002	Natural Instinct Dakota was best Working Dog and Working Terrier Champion at OHPA. White Phantom Ba-ku earned his NHC to Raccoon We are pleased to announce two upcoming Litters both due mid septmember 1/ Natural Instinct Spangle X Merry Chase Rogue. Rogue is 10 years old and has wonderfully stood the test of time (Maven's Tailor X Foxfield Elfin) 2/ Natural Instinct Lady Diana X White Phantom Ba-ku. Diana is the Dam of our NI Dakota and Ba-ku has been producing excllent offspring for us.
July 2002	Natural Instinct Dakota attended the West Virginia Working Terrier Challenge where he was Best Working Dog and Reserve Champion. Natural Instinct "Q" was Best Dog Pup and Reserve Puppy Champion at Mason Dixion II. Natural Instinct "Q" was Reserve Best Dog Pup and Best Canadian Bred Puppy at the Brocksett trial. Natural Instinct "Q" "Q" had a great time working his First Ground Hog. Natural Instinct Dakota was Best Working Dog and Reserve Champion Working Terrier at St. Croix
June 2002	Natural Instinct Shayla earned her NHC to Ground Hog. We are looking very forward to attending the Midwest Trial this month, we would enjoy chatting with you there. Natural Instinct "Q" was "Reserve Best Dog Pup at the Midwest Trial
May 2002	The Twiggy / Ba-Ku Litter have arrived, 1 female and 2 males. Pictures will be on the Litter Page in early June. Natural Instinct Spangle earned her NHC to Ground Hog May brings the Yankee Trials in CT. we look forward to visiting this wonderful New England Event. Many Thanks to all the Yankee Club members for such a great Trial. Natural Instinct Dakota was Reserve Best Working Dog both Days and Reserve Champion Working Terrier on Saturday. Natural Insitnct "Q" won his class both days and was Reserve Dog Pup on Saturday. "Q" also helped his GrandSire win the Generation Class on Saturday. Our other terriers did very well earning us a total of 8 firsts and 5 seconds over the weekend.
April 2002	Litter Alert White Phantom Ba-Ku X Natural Instinct Twiggy litter due in early May, We are quite excited about this litter that will add a dash of Sailor to our excellent producing Twiggy. The Ice Breaker is a trial we look eagerly toward, the end of winter and beginning of a new season. Our annual spring trek to Maryland Line has become an eagerly awaited event. Two Years ago our Natural Instinct Dakota opened up a great year for us by being the Ice Breaker Puppy Champion this year her has made a wonderful opening to the year earning his Bronze Medallion in the winter, we have so looked forward to showing him in the Bronze Class. At this years Ice Breaker he was Best Working Dog on Saturday and Reserve Working Champion on Sunday, his son Natural Instinct Shadow won his class both days and was Reserve Best 4 to 6 male on Saturday. Dakota was 2nd stud dog and get Saturday with just in house offspring at his side. Our White Phantom Ba-Ku won his Working Class on Sunday and was second on Saturday. Natural Instinct Spangle was Reserve Bred by Exhibitor Bitch Both Days. Natural Instinct Q and Natural Instinct Fantastik both placed 2nd. The gang did a great job placing either First or second in 60 percent of the Classes they where entered in.

Febuary 2002	Natural Instinct Dakota earned his Bronze Medalion the highest award issued for Merrit in the Field. The NHCs Dakota has earned are Groundhog, Raccoon and Red Fox Natural Instinct Bucky earned his NHC to Raccoon

December 2001	Both Litters are doing well and will be available to selected homes in the new year.

October 2001	We had a great time at the JRTCA Nationals where Natural Instinct Kendol won top honors as a groundhog dog
September 2001	Canadian Nationals We had a great time at the 10th annual JRTCC National Trial. Sassy1 of Natural Instinct won the Generation Class at the JRTCC Nationals. Natural Instinct Bucky was best Male 4 to 6 month and JRTCC Nationals Reserve Champion 4 to 6 month Puppy, Natural Instinct Lily owned by Sandy Kitely was second in the 4 to 6 month R/B bitch class, thier sire Natural Instinct Dakota won his working class and was Reserve Best Canadian Breed Dog and placed 3rd in Stud Dog and Get with his first year of offspring at his side (the oldest was 9 months). Natural Instinct Spike, Natural Instinct Mr. Clean and White Phantom Baku all placed 2nd in thier working Classes. This weekend we had a Great time at the Free State and Plum Run Hunt Trials. Our Terriers where well represented. Natural Instinct Dakota was Best Working Dog and Reserve Champion Working Terrier while his offspring Natural Instinct Bucky and Natural Instinct Dixe of Delaware Both won thier Classes, NI Shayla also placed 2nd. Natural Instinct Spangle won Bred by Exhibitor Bitch, Natural Instinct Mr. Clean and Natural Instinct Jewel both won Working Terrier Classes. While we where in Maryland another Dakota Offspring Natural Instinct Kody was Best Dog Puppy at the Terrier trial in Kentucky We made our first trip to New Jersey and had a great time at Doug and Sue's Northgate Trial. Natural Instinct Bucky (Dakota X Jewel) won his class, Natural Instinct Mr. Clean won his working Class, Natural Instinct Dakota won his working class and went on to be Reserve Best Working Dog Tipper, one of our Dakota X Jewel Puppies is headed for Japan.
August 2001	We attended the Buckeye Extravaganza and had a great time, The trial was well attended and very well run. Our Dakota/Jewel pup Natural Instinct Shayla was best 4 to 6 month Pup. Natural Instinct Mr. Clean won his working class and was Reserve Working Dog. Natural Instinct Jewel won her Working Class, Natural Instinct Spangle was best bred by exhibitor bitch.
July 2001	Natural Insinct Mr. Clean Earned his NHC to groundhog today just days after his 1st birthday. White Phantom Ba-ku of NI became an offical Working Terrier by earned his NHC to groundhog
June 2001	We Traveled to the Round Barn Musem in Ilinoss for the Midwest JRT Trials. Saturday Natural Instinct Mr. Clean was Reserve Puppy Champion and Natural Instinct Spangle Was Best Bitch Pup On Sunday Natural Instinct Mr. Clean was Reserve Best Dog Pup, White Phantom Ba-Ku was Reserve Best Open Dog. Natural Instinct Kody owned by Chris Graves Won his puppy Class Natural Instinct is Pleased and excited to announce that White Phantom Ba-Ku has joined the Gang. November 2000	We Went hunting in the USA and had a great time, Spent time with some very nice Terrier Folks, Thank you all so much for your Hospitality. Natural Instinct Dakota Earned his NHC to Racoon Natural Instinct Kendoll earned her NHC to Raccoon. Natural Instinct Petula earned her NHC to Raccoon.
October 2000	We Made a Trip to Maryland for the 2000 JRTCA National Trial. We had a great time. Natural Instinct Dollie and Natural Instinct Spike where awarded Their Bronze Medallions Natural Instinct Micro was Best Bronze Dog at the US Nationals on Sunday. Natural Instinct Kendoll was 3rd in Suitability to Ground Hog out of a class of 38 Natural Instinct Twiggy was 6th in her working class. Natural Instinct Jewel Earned her NHC to Raccoon on Tuesday. Natural Instinct Magnum earned his NHC to Ground Hog.
September 2000	We Traveled to Maryland/Pensylvania Border and attended both Free State and Plum Run Trials At Free State Natural Instinct Spike was Best Open Dog and Reserve Champion Open Terrier Natural Instinct Micro was 2nd in Family At Plum Run Natural Instinct Spike was Best Open Dog and Reserve Champion Open Terrier Natural Instinct Micro was best Bronze Dog and Reserve Best Family Natural Instinct Jewel Won her Working Class JR Ranch Lexie was 2nd in her class Natural Instinct Dakota was 2nd in his Working Class. Natural Instinct Magnum was 2nd in his class Natural Instinct Diana Had a Litter of one Female by Natural Instinct Micro We mated Natural Instinct Dakota and Natural Instinct Kendoll, Litter due November 23rd.
August 2000	The Middle weekend in August we where at OHPA trial in Lancaster Ohio. Natural Instinct Dakota was 2nd in his class. JR Ranch Lexie won her Class and was Res Best Bitch Pup and Res Champion Puppy Natural Instinct Micro won his Working Class and was Best Working Dog. Natural Instinct Jewel did very well in her workng class. Natural Instinct Flip Owned by Linda Clemens was 1st in his class
July 2000	Natural Instinct Vana Earned her NHC to groundhog with her new folks, Connie and John Haven. Thanks for Letting our Terriers Work. We attended St Croix Terrier Trial, had a great time, would definitely recommend the hospitality and great trial. Natural Instinct Dakota was Best Dog Pup and Puppy Champion Jr Ranch Lexie was Best Bitch Pup and Reserve Puppy Champion Natural Instinct Micro won Studdog and get, was Best Working Dog and Reserve Champion Working Terrier. Natural Instinct Kendoll was Reserve Best Working Bitch. Been spending spare time in the field with terriers and their persons. It is a real joy. Magnum our Little Micro X Petula Male Puppy is having a blast entering and working. Micro X Twiggy Litter have arrived 2 females and 2 males Micro X Sassy1 Litter have arrived, 2 females and 1 male.
